We had the opportunity to feature in podcasts, scientific magazines and collaborate with other fabulous initiatives. Scroll down to have a look at some of our ongoing and past projects.
SoS and LoL collaborate
We bring you Season 13 of the Scene from Above podcast, aimed at showcasing the latest and greatest in Remote sensing & geosciences while keeping inclusivity and representation at the forefront. Have a listen!
SoS and Geoawesomeness collaborate
We are collaborating with the folks at Geoawesomeness to provide you a monthly summary of all of our activities! Always wished you could get a summary of our monthly SAR_facts, Training_tuesday, DivesityDay, PictureThursday and SAR_Star tweets? Check this out!
SoS @ ISPRS Congress 2022
We gave a lightning talk at the Women in remote sensing, photogrammetry and spatial information science session at the ISPRS Congress 2022
SoS @ Living Planet Symposium 2022
Heading to the Living Planet Symposium 2022? Join us for an all-star panel of experts from every facet of our remote sensing community to discuss how we can achieve an inclusive remote sensing/EO future.
Organised in collaboration with the Ladies of Landsat and supported by IEEE GRSS IDEA, Women in Copernicus, WIA Europe, African Women in GIS, She maps and ESA Diversity.
SoS @ Living Planet Symposim 2022

With the photo above, Sisters of SAR won first place in the IEEE GRSS IDEA photo contest about "Formation of supporting networks in the face of adversity".
The Scenes from above podcast #S12e4
We and Ladies of Landsat took over the controls from Alastair and Andrew and spoke to Dr. Polyanna Bispo about her research, accomplishments and DEI activities. Listen here:
GeoMixer
The GeoMixer is an online networking event that brings together members of the remote sensing, photogrammetry and GIS communities. Jointly organised by the Ladies of Landsat, Sisters of SAR, ISPRS Student Consortium, Asian Association on Remote Sensing, ASPRS SC, MS IEEE GRSS Student chapter and the ISPRS White Elephant club, it is a fun way to meet & interact with our global community.

SAR Capacity Building Webinars
This is a collaboration between the SAR Capacity Building Initiative, Sisters of SAR and IEEE-GRSS to develop SAR trainings and webinars. For more information, follow the link
Scenes from Above Podcast
We had a chance to talk to Andrew and Alastair, the organisers of Scenes from above. Have a listen
Carleton SAR lecture series
Laura and Sarah organized and presented a SAR remote sensing course that featured only women SAR scientists from around the globe! This course was aimed at Geographers and application specialists, with a focus on translating the engineering and physics of SAR into the applications domain. It introduced basic concepts of SAR, provided a review of matrix Algebra for non-math specialists and covered the concepts of SAR Polarimetry. The course explained how both target and SAR system characteristics impact SAR responses. We had 8 women guest lecturers covering all types of SAR.
ISPRS Spectrum article
Sisters of SAR was featured in the December 2020 issue of the ISPRS Spectrum newsletter
Maplines article
Sisters of SAR was featured in Maplines, a magazine of the British Cartographic Society published three times a year and available to Society members. This article highlighted our Twitter initiative and introduced @SistersofSAR to a larger audience!
E-GEOS Webinar moderation
Sisters of SAR moderated the e-GEOS webinar on SAR capabilities that e-GEOS can deploy using COSMO-SkyMed Second Generation and SAR data from the two systems COSMO-SkyMed Second Generation and SAOCOM, the Argentinean SAR Constellation
