Commit to our mission by promoting women in SAR that you know and hear of, and insisting on having them represented at your workplace, at the conferences you go to, as webinar speakers, on editorial board of journals, as colleagues, students or employees. Together, we can make our field more inclusive and representative.

Help Make A Change

Here are some ways you can help make SAR remote sensing more inclusive:

Empower and support women in SAR - these may be your colleagues, collaborators, friends, employees, students, or even someone you admire.
Promote women in SAR- cite their research, collaborate with them, make sure they are represented in the meetings, conferences, webinars etc. you organise or attend.
Be aware of unconscious and implicit biases - if you are in a decision making position, remember - with great power comes great responsibility - to represent and include women.
Increase funding for women and underrepresented communities - to empower more women to join and stay in the field of SAR remote sensing.
Support & empower mothers - remove the 'Maternal Wall'! Provide on-site dependent care services at workplaces and conferences and speak to mothers about what they need so they can thrive.
Listen to & learn from women- all women (especially women of colour) have faced their share of struggles. Create an environment where they can share their stories and make changes when necessary.
